ABOUT AFI

Formed following the unification of the EFIA and FCA on January 1st 2017, AFI is a professional trade association serving the needs of the UK fencing industry.

AFI exists to promote safety, quality and professionalism throughout the UK fencing industry; to provide business opportunities, industry news and technical information to its members; to encourage inter-member trading and collaboration; and to raise the profile and image of the UK fencing industry.

AFI members include fencing contractors, manufacturers, stockists, installers, and other individuals and organisations engaged in the fencing industry. Our annual subscription is modest and membership gives access to a range of benefits at no extra cost, including free CHAS Assessments (a benefit saving up to £ 300 if sought externally).

"AFI is a hands on organisation for a hands on industry, offering real and practical benefits for sensible money"

AFI also represents its members interests on the British Standards Institute's B/201 (Fencing Standards) committee, the National Highways Sectors Scheme committees and the FISS/CSCS committee. In addition it has strong links with other industry bodies and associations, e.g Build UK, CHAS, ConstructionLine, WPA, SAPCA, CSCS.

Whilst you are busy putting fences up, selling or supervising them, AFI can help you develop your business by providing industry news and information, and opportunities to win more work, reduce costs, improve quality, reputation and professionalism.

"AFI is not a badge that can be bought"

AFI has stringent entry criteria and members must meet and adhere to our profesional Code of Practice. AFI members then are typically companies at the top of their game, not only meeting their statutory obligations, but going much further in providing the highest quality goods and services.
